In der Übersicht

In the modern world, the question of identity is at the core of our lives. But what do we really know about it? What does it mean to be your ‘true’ self? To what extend are we defined by stereotypes and why do we keep believing in them? What roles do nationality, gender, race, language, and sexuality play in defining who we are? Are we free to construct our own identities or are we ‘created’ by the mass media, politics, and the arts that surround us? How can we reflect on and explain these questions to ourselves and others? The course offers the participants to practice their English language skills when looking for answers to these and other identity-related questions.
