Overview
Human rights are nowadays challenged on a daily basis. Right-wing populism, authoritarian governements, poverty … are putting our most fundamental rights in danger in various places and situations. The module “Human Rights Education in Theory and Practice” seeks to analyze the past and current development of human rights by focusing of some of the most dangerous challenges for human rights in our world.
The module is based on the three principles of human rights education, learning about, through and for human rights. Additionally the module allows the students to access the topic of human rights by learning about them in the context of human right education. Students will learn about and apply well-known concepts and terminologies such as Human Rights, Human Rights Education, and instruments for the protection of Human Rights.
