Overview
The Summer School is a collaboration between different Schools of the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts and other universities and institutions. During the one-week programme, a number of interdisciplinary lecturers will present their findings with the help of various case studies on a current area of research neighbourhoods and communities, diversity, tourism, mobility, infrastructure, sustainability, architecture and planning processes. Other researchers will also be present and introduce their ideas on the topic to demonstrate the benefits of an inter- and transdisciplinary approach to such research. Inter- and transdisciplinarity play an important methodological role during the whole week allowing students to understand different perspectives, work in groups and try to synthesize the various disciplines. In addition, field trips designed to augment the case studies will be organized within the city of Lucerne as well as one field trip to a tourist site in the Lucerne region.
