Every day we buy and consume many food products without knowing how and where they are made. Food products, having various life cycles, which start long before we buy them, sometimes end as waste. A product’s sustainability very much depends on its life cycle. Various aspects such as the growing of their constituents, forms of production, methods of transport, their consummation or their disposal influence the product´s sustainability. This course focuses on how we can get better information on the impact food products have on the environment and the people who produce them. It sheds light on economic interrelations in the food sector. Several keynote speakers will give the appropriate background on global food affairs and sustainability approaches on different levels.
