You'll receive support in creating a website (for a hobby, club, etc.). In addition to the instructor, AI tools such as ChatGPT will also assist you in your work.
You don't need to learn HTML and CSS. We use tools that make it easy for you to get started with independent web development. You can find more details on the website with some additional preliminary information. We don't use no-code website builders, as these kits make it easy to get started but can be limiting later. There are helpful compilations on the internet that will support you in your work alongside my inputs. The optional use of AI tools such as ChatGPT saves time and headaches. We will also discuss the skillful use of these tools. As proof of your competence, you will present your website, the development process and the challenges you have mastered.

This module is offered asynchronously, giving you the greatest possible flexibility in terms of location and time. You will receive the course materials digitally and can study them whenever it suits you best.

All enrolled bachelor’s and master’s students, as well as doctoral candidates, at the three universities in Lucerne (Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, University of Lucerne, and Lucerne University of Teacher Education) are eligible to participate. Subject to availability, staff members and external participants are also welcome (for a fee).

We also integrate existing code for effects such as parallax. However, if you’re aiming for large-scale solutions—such as complete online stores with automated checkout—you’re better off using a modular system (which we don’t cover in this module). You’re welcome to work on a project in pairs or on your own. Groups of three require approval, as there is a risk that one person might become the “fifth wheel.” In this case, please send me a clear breakdown of responsibilities in advance.
